NURSING (CONTINENCE)

Nursing (Continence)

What is a Nursing (Continence)?

A Continence Nurse is a registered nurse with extensive training in continence care. They are specially trained to assess your condition and work with you to develop a management plan that addresses your individual needs.

Our Continence Nurse can visit you in the comfort of your home. Confidentiality and discretion are ensured at all times.

Incontinence can affect women, men and children of all ages, physical ability and background. Some health conditions and events throughout life can increase the risk of developing incontinence.

Continence Nurses can assist you to

  • Understand your condition
  • Manage incontinence
  • Work with you to create toilet habits that help incontinence
  • Create plans to manage your condition

At Your First Appointment

At your first appointment, the Nurse will ask you to complete a pre-screening questionnaire and a detailed health history will be taken.

Based on the answers to the questionnaire, in addition to your health history, a continence assessment will be performed, suggestions and a plan individually tailored for your needs will be formulated.
